Replacement piston rings for VW Volkswagen. Grant piston rings are made in USA and of the highest quality. Replacing broken or worn out rings are an easy way to freshen up your pistons and cylinders. I will sometimes scuff the barrels with a hone just to get the glazing off. This will help ensure the seating of the rings. You should also check the ring gap when installing them in a barrel. .0035-.0040 of gap per 1" of bore size. So a 85.5mm piston would typically be set at .013 - .014 setting. The wear limit is wear limit .0350 inch. The ring side clearance on a piston should not exceed .005 inch. Ring sets are typically sold in sets of 4 (for 4 pistons).
