Silverline main bearings are made with steel backed center mains. Kolbenschmidt and Mahle bearings are the OEM manufactures for VW Volkswagen but are no longer using steel backed center main bearings. Ks and Mahle now use aluminum center mains which are not as strong. These bearings will fit 1200-1600cc VW aircooled motors.
