165, 145, and 135 tires for VW Volkswagen. Stock VW Volkswagen tires were similar in size to the 165/80R15. That is why it our most popular size. If you want your car to ride smooth and have more mph (mile per hour) at lower rpms, keep your tire height tall as possible. Lower sidewalls, such as the 50 and 60 series tires may handle better, but you will sacrifice ride comfort and top end mph. Taller series sidewalls will absorb road bumps and potholes much better than tires with 1 inch tall sidewalls. Some lowered cars must use 145 or 135 series tires for clearance purposes. Make sure you use that largest front tire that will clear your application. 70% of you braking is the front. When buying 2 or more tires, choose tires in pairs, they will have the correct shipping cost.
