This the fan hub hardware needed to install a VW Volkswagen fan on the back of an alternator or generator. It is sometimes necessary to add generator shims to get clearance between the backing plates and the fan. You need 2mm (.080 inch) clearance so the fan will not rub the backing plates. This nut is to be torqued 40-47 ft lbs.
