This is a narrowed 2 inch front end for VW Volkswagen standard Beetle 1966-1977 and Karmann Ghia (not Super Beetle). We use a brand new 2 inch narrowed center beam. New beams have avis (ratchet style) adjusters for maximum range of adjustment and new oem style needle bearings in the torsion housing. No urethane bushings to squeak. We use OEM factory VW torsion bars and torsion arms. Other options include standard and lowered drum spindles or disc brake spindles for specific applications. Some disc brake spindles require late model wheel bearings and grease seals. If you are questioning whether your front ball joint spindles are early or late, there is an easy way to check. 1966 through mid-1968 VW Volkswagen Beetle original early spindles take early style tie rod ends with 17mm nuts. Most replacement ball joint disc brake and ball joint dropped spindles are made for late model tie rod ends with 19mm nuts. Late model spindles mid-1968 through 1977 are made with a larger diameter stub and use wheel bearings and grease seals with a larger inside diameter. There is no accommodation for backing plates when dropped spindle disc brakes are used. If you purchase a front disc brake kit, choose no spindles in the drop down menu and we will install the spindles from the kit.
