You should always use a new metal baffle gasket when replacing the alternator stand. It is a crush style gasket that should only be used once. I use high temp silicone on the top and bottom of the metal baffle gasket to ensure leak free installation. Never use the paper gaskets that come with the engine gasket sets. Paper gaskets get pounded flat by the belt rotation motion and start to leak after time. This is a directional gasket and louver must go down. I have included a picture to show how it is correctly installed.
