Merged header sedan exhaust and phat boy mufflers for VW Volkswagen
COMPETITION MERGED EXHAUST SYSTEM
This is the exhaust system for the serious racer. A true merged exhaust. Four 1 5/8" large diameter mandrel bent tubes are cut and fitted into a long merged collector. Header features thick H.D. Flanges with ground flat gasket surfaces. All internal welds are ground for true high flow performance. Includes an EMPI swivel flange racing stinger. Use the hideaway muffler or PHAT Boy to get to & from the track. Eliminates heater boxes. Type 1 only.

Competition Merged Exhaust
for Bolt-on Heater Boxes
EMPI now offers an 1 5/8" Merged Competition Header System for use with special 1 1/2" flanged racing heater boxes. This enables you to have a defroster/heater system and still have a hi-performance merged exhaust system. Header features thick H.D. Flanges with ground flat gasket surfaces. All internal welds are ground for true high flow performance. Headers are supplied with an EMPI swivel flange racing stinger. Heater boxes have lightweight inner coils to still generate good heater output while 1 1/2" tubing allows for less restriction on your hi-performance motor! Header system is provided with a stinger. Then choose from heater boxes or 1 5/8" J-tubes to complete your installation. All components are available also with a ceramic coat finish instead of painted. In addition you can use the hideaway muffler or PHAT Boy to get to & from the track. Type 1 only. Header & Stinger ONLY.

These merged PHAT boys provide maximum flow and power with a distinctive turbo hush. They won't see you coming; they will hear you going. We make 3 versions, black, ceramic coated steel and stainless steel. Fits both P/N: 3699 & 7320 series of exhausts. Type 1 only.
