Made in USA CMS spun aluminum heat treated wheels for VW Volkswagen have been the racer choice for years. This Cms spun aluminum wheel is used on Drag cars, offroad buggies and the occasional hot street car trying to maximize weight reduction while increasing the horsepower to weight ratio. With a 2 piece wheels, wheel offsets can be made to accommodate king pin inclination from raised and lowered spindles while increasing the handling characteristics. Bolt together wheels replacement halves can also be ordered separate if 1 half of the wheel is damaged. Some front disc brake kits using stock style VW Volkswagen calipers will not work with these wheels. The caliper can not stick out past the facing of the rotor where the wheel bolts on. Inside wheel offset or backspacing almost never exceeds 4.5 inches in VW applications due to clearance issues. It is much more common to see 1.75, 2.5 and 3.5 inch wheel offset backspacing. It is standard in the VW Volkswagen industry to use the term minimum (2.5 inch) and standard offset (3.5 inch). The more centered the wheel offset, the less stress and leverage on the suspension components. We feel it is best to let the customers choice wheel offset instead of only making minimum and standard offset wheels. Wheels are polished and may have superficial scratches due to handling. Most customers are fine with the polish but there is always whiner in the crowd. If you are trying to build a show car, you may have to get them repolished if you are trying to build a concourse car. Most wheel halves are in stock and can be assembled within a week. They are locally made and can take 1 to 3 weeks to make if the half is out of stock due the heat treating and polishing process.
