This is throttle cable tube that goes from the chassis to the firewall tin. Right up to the tube in the shroud. This bowden tube will fit all year VW Volkswagen. It is usually missing from most cars. I have actually seen the cable saw a big groove into a transmission housing when the tube was missing.
