New Bosch 12 volt voltage regulators for VW Volkswagen. Generators are supposed to put out 13.8 volts. Regulators bring them down to 12 volts. Sometimes a regulator will go bad and let the generator overcharge. The generator will get so hot, the soldering will come off the armature destroying the generator. In some cases, is not only the generator that needs changing.
