These are performance H beam 4340 forged chromoly connecting rods with ARP2000 bolts for VW Volkswagen crankshafts. They are magnafluxed, shot peened, multi staged heat treated, and sold in matched weight sets of 4. This style rod is lighter and much stronger. That is why it is the racers choice for high rpm and big horsepower motors. Although the cost is much more, we have chosen to only use the made in USA ARP 2000 bolts (which is a patented material) over the 8740 because of its superior clamp load strength. The rod bolt is the strength of the rod. As you will find out , most of our competitors have chosen to use imported 8740 bolts to cut costs. We have also chosen the 5/16 ARP 2000 bolt over the 3/8 8740 bolt due to the clearancing issues in stoker motors. These are the lengths and journals available.
