Throw out bearing conversion kit for VW Volkswagen. If you have ever had the throw out bearing fall the cross shaft, then this is the what should have been done along time ago. Late model transmissions(1971-1979) have a collar that the throw out bearing is guided by. Early transmission only have 2 small clips keeping the tob bearing aligned and from falling off. This kit will allow you to install a late style throw out bearing collar on an early style transmission. This will end the dreaded "Throw out bearing falling off and engine removal to repair it". You must remove the centering ring from the pressure plate when installing this kit.
