This is a 5 on 205 (wide 5 VW pattern) front disc brake conversion kit for ball joint or king and link pin Standard Beetle Volkswagen 1947-1977 and Karmann Ghia (not Super Beetle). This kit features a reengineered wide 5 pattern brake rotor and caliper bracket that will allow you upgrade to disc brakes while still using your existing front spindles. Get rid of those dinosaur front drum brakes and upgrade to the stopping power of disc brakes. Disc brakes have superior braking power over drums and since 70% of your braking is the front, the difference becomes night and day. This kit will convert your front drum brakes to disc brakes and let you run some of the nostalgic wheels being reproduced without running wheel adapters. The kit comes complete with master cylinder, brake lines, floating Chevy style calipers with semi metallic brake pads, wheel bearings, grease seals and all necessary hardware. 1966- to mid 1968 cars have early inner wheel bearing and grease seals. An easy way to determine if spindles are early or late is to check the nut size on tie rod end. Early tie rod ends have 17mm nuts and late ones are 19mm. This will insure you get the correct wheel bearings and grease seals. This kit is for 5-bolt wheel pattern (5 on 205 early model bug) and will not work with 14 inch wheels. There are no accommodations for backing plates.
