Description

Stock and lowered replacement oil shocks for VW Volkswagen will maintain a smooth original stock ride. We always recommend oil shocks on the front of a lowered car. If you are looking for more of a high performance and handling shock, you will have to sacrifice some of the smooth ride. Although oil shocks are be the best choice for that smooth Cadillac¯ ride, the heavy gas shocks will decrease body sway and allow your vehicle to reach it's maximum handling potential. One of the determining factors that need to be considered when choosing shocks, especially in the VW applications, is vehicle weight. Some Volkswagens are very light in the front end. Some gas shocks will ride very stiff and actually raise the front end up on light cars. It is probably more noticeable when the gas tank is lower on fuel, if the car is lowered or if it is a light fiberglass buggy. This is not a normal problem for heavy cars like VW Buses. The rear of a VW has so much weight from the transmission and motor, light and heavy gas shocks work excellent. I have oil shocks on the front of my lowered Bug and heavy gas on the rear. On my Bus, I have heavy gas shocks all the way around. Shocks are sold each. 4 are required per car.
